The organization is named after C.R. "Dudy" Noble, the namesake of Mississippi State's on-campus baseball facility. The Bulldogs, who open their 123rd season of baseball Feb. 15 against Portland, could register their 1,000th win at the current Dudy Noble Field site on opening weekend. State has registered 998 wins in 46 seasons since beginning play at the present on-campus location in 1967.
