Frazier, Holder, Renfroe Named To Louisville Slugger All-American Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. - A trio of Mississippi State players picked up preseason all-America team honors Friday after being named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Junior shortstop Adam Frazier (Bishop, Ga.), sophomore pitcher Jonathan Holder (Gulfport, Miss.) and junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe (Crystal Springs, Miss.) are among 20 Southeastern Conference standouts named to the Tucson-based publication's first, second or third-team honor squads.

Frazier is a second unit honoree after leading MSU and ranking third in the SEC with 91 hits and a .371 batting average. Holder notched two wins and nine saves while carding a remarkable 0.32 earned run average and joined Renfroe on the Louisville Slugger third team. Renfroe hit .252 and drove in 25 runs as a sophomore in 2012 and is coming off an eye-opening 19-home run summer league season with Bethesda, Md., in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League.

It's the second preseason all-America team honor for Frazier and Holder, both included in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) listing earlier this month.

Mississippi State launches its 123^rd season of baseball Feb. 15-17 when State hosts Portland to open a 37-game home slate with a campaign-opening 19-game homestand.
