STARKVILLE, Miss. - Buoyed by improved offensive play, Mississippi State embarks on its first November road trip when the Volleyball Bulldogs (4-20, 0-15 SEC) trek to Columbia, S.C., for a Friday match against SEC East foe South Carolina (15-12, 3-12 SEC).

MSU registered SEC season-highs for kills and attack percentage last weekend in home matches against defending SEC champion Tennessee and SEC West foe Alabama. Junior Dani McCree registered 25 kills and a team-best .323 attack percentage. Freshman Taylor Scott also totaled 25 kills, raising her team-leading total to 234. SEC digs leader Roxanne McVey piled up 37 digs against Alabama, raising her season digs total to 474 and her per-set digs average to 5.64, 12th-best in the NCAA.

State enters the match in search of its first league win and an end to a 16-match dry spell.

Friday's 6 p.m. (CST) MSU-USC match at the Volleyball Competition Center is State's only competition of the weekend. The Bulldogs return to action at the Newell-Grissom Building Nov. 16-18, wrapping up their 13-match home schedule hosting Ole Miss (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Missouri (Sunday, 1:30 p.m.).
