STARKVILLE, Miss. - Following a 37-dig performance against Alabama Sunday, Bulldog freshman libero Roxanne McVey has climbed to 12th among the nation's leaders in that defensive category.

The Magnolia, Texas, product finished with 54 scoops in two matches last weekend, raising her SEC-leading digs total to 474 for a 5.64 per-set average, 12th-best in the NCAA. McVey is tied for seventh among MSU's all-time single-season digs leaders and stands 37 away from the school-record 511 digs registered by Megan Lukasek in 2007.

McVey set the MSU record with 42 digs against Kennesaw State on opening weekend and notched an SEC-record 50 digs against LSU September 28. With Sunday's 37-dig outing, she now has the top two and three of the top five digs performances in the SEC this fall.

Mississippi State continues SEC competition Friday in Columbia, S.C., with a 6 p.m. (CST) match against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
