STARKVILLE, Miss. - Team White made a clean sweep of the 2012 Maroon-White World Series Sunday afternoon, topping the Maroon squad 2-1 in the final game of the three-game, fall practice-ending intrasquad series at Dudy Noble Field.

Sophomore Trevor Fitts opened on the mound for the victorious White team, registering seven strikeouts while allowing a run on three hits in 4-2/3 innings. Senior Luis Pollorena earned the win in relief, retiring the four batters he faced, while sophomore relief ace Jonathan Holder retired the side in the ninth, two via strikeout, to preserve the win.

Six Team White players --- Adam Frazier, Brett Pirtle, Hunter Renfroe, Daryl Norris, Tyler Fullerton and Daniel Garner lashed singles. Nick Ammirati's fourth-inning groundout plated the first Team White run and Renfroe later raced home with the winning run on a wild pitch.

Outfielder C.T. Bradford plated the Maroon's lone run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Bradford, Demarcus Henderson, Jacob Robson, Zack Randolph and Cody Brown singled once each for the Maroons.

Sophomore right-hander Will Cox allowed a run on five hits and struck out five over five solid innings of starting mound duty for the Maroons.

The Bulldogs resume small-group and individual workouts this week in preparation for a 2013 season-opening four-game series against Portland Feb. 15-17 at Dudy Noble Field.
