Men's Tennis Bulldogs Travel To Pensacola For USTA Futures

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Three freshmen earned top seeds in pre-qualifying as the Mississippi State Bulldogs men's tennis squad travels to Pensacola, Fla., for the USTA Futures.

Pedro Dumont was awarded the pre-qualifying's first seed with an International Tennis Federation ranking of 1,051. Freshmen Stefan Vinti (No. 1,665) and Romain Bogaerts (No. 1,879) were awarded the sixth and seventh seeds in pre-qualies. All seeded players will earn first round byes, needing only three wins to advance to main draw play.

Freshman Jordan Angus also earned a first-round bye, joining 20 non-seeded players to earn the pass from opening round play.

Senior James Chaudry and juniors Malte Stropp and Zach White will have to earn four wins to advance out of the pre-qualifying round and into the main bracket.

Main draw play will begin Tuesday, Oct. 30, and will include 32 singles and 16 doubles teams.
