STARKVILLE, Miss. - Celebrating its own homecoming, the Mississippi State softball team led by Head Coach Vann Stuedeman finally returns home to Starkville this weekend for an action-packed weekend full of softball and fun.
On Saturday from 4-5 p.m. at the CSpire Fan Zone in The Junction, the softball team will provide a free pitching demonstration to all fans before football's homecoming game vs. Middle Tennessee. The first 100 "Stuedefans" will receive a free t-shirt with the 2013 schedule on it, while everyone will have the opportunity to take pictures with the team and collect autographs from each player.
On Sunday, the fall exhibition "Tour de Miss" comes to an end at 1 p.m., as the Maroon and White battle defending NJCAA national runner-up Wallace-Hanceville in a doubleheader at the MSU Softball Stadium. Admission is free to the only home fall softball event of the year.
"We are so excited to finally get back in front of our hometown fans as well as to have the privilege to play in front of them," Stuedeman said. "We met so many great people around the state this fall and we also can't wait for them to show up, experience homecoming and watch us play on our exciting brand of softball."
Following the doubleheader, the team will host a cookout to the first 100 fans 12 and under. Those over 12 will be charged $5 for the meal. For more information on Mississippi State Softball, follow the Bulldogs on Twitter at @MStateSB and like the team on Facebook at Facebook.com/MStateSB.
