MSU Volleyball Tests Mizzou On ESPNU Sunday
The match will be televised by ESPNU, with Michele Smith and Dorothy Franco-Reed describing the action.
The Bulldogs fell short in their bid to claim a season-first league win Friday night in Lexington, Ky., bowing to Kentucky 25-18, 25-18, 25-18 in the first volleyball match held at Rupp Arena. The match drew more than 5,000 fans and served as the run-up event to UK's annual Big Blue Madness basketball celebration.
Freshman Taylor Scott led the match with nine kills, sophomore Alex Scott took match honors with 11 digs in her debut as the Bulldogs' libero, and sophomore Lainey Wyman registered a match-most four blocks. Freshman Roxanne McVey, the SEC's leader in digs, drew a career-first start at the setter position and dished out 18 point-producing passes.
State hosts South Carolina and Arkansas next weekend in matches that will be played in Humphrey Coliseum in conjunction with special Homecoming events scheduling on campus.
