Bulldogs Face No. 16 Missouri Sunday Afternoon
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mississippi State reaches the halfway point of a four-match road trip Sunday afternoon as it challenges league newcomer and 16th-ranked Missouri in a 1 p.m. kickoff at Walton Stadium in Columbia.
The Bulldogs make the trek to Columbia looking to bounce back from a tough 2-0 setback at Auburn Friday night that dropped Neil Macdonald's squad to 7-6-1 overall, 0-6-1 in the SEC.
In that contest, Mississippi State senior goalie Skylar Rosson stopped a season-high 12 shots.
Junior Elisabeth Sullivan looks to spark the offense after she had a pair of chances turned away against Auburn. The Memphis native paces the Dawgs this season with seven goals.
Sunday's game will be the first SEC meeting between the two squads, but it will be the third contest overall as the teams split a pair of contests in the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Mizzou closes a two-match homestand after opening the weekend with a 2-1 overtime win against Kentucky Friday night. The win moved the Tigers to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the SEC, the best start in program history.
Junior Alyssa Diggs scored both of Missouri's goals to put her in the team lead with six.
