MSU Set To Tee Of Season In Inaugural Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational
"The Waverly" is the first regular-season home event in the program's 33-year history and will be hosted at the par-72, 6,204-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.
The three-day, three-round event tees off Monday morning with Ginger Brown-Lemm's squad paired with SEC-foes Arkansas and Kentucky at 9:30 a.m. Also participating in the event are Cincinnati, Memphis, Murray State, Southern Miss, Tulane, South Florida, South Alabama, and Kennesaw State.
MSU's lineup features a trio of stellar sophomores, as well as a newcomer, Gabi Oubre', and the eldest Lady Bulldog, Mary Langdon Gallagher.
Ally McDonald looks to build off her All-SEC freshman campaign and capture the season-opening event. Freshman Oubre' will look to match McDonald's freshman year success as she begins her career in the Maroon and White.
Rica Tse and Elena Warren will also represent MSU in "The Waverly." The duo, along with McDonald, finished last season ranked as the fifth-best freshman class according to GolfStat.com.
Rounding out the Lady Bulldog lineup will be. The Greenwood-native is the only upperclassman on 2012-13 roster and owns the most tournament appearances on the team with 19.
Freshman Logan Chaney will also make her career debut as an individual.
Admission to the event is free, and MSU students can earn Bulldog Coalition points for attending each round. Prior to Tuesday's second round, a 9/11 Tribute will be held around the 18th green.
