SELECTED OFFENSIVE PLAYER QUOTES

LaDarius Perkins - Jr. - RB

On leadership positions...

"I know I have a bigger role than I've had. I feel like I have to take over right now."

Dillon Day - So. - OL

On help from Archie Muniz and Daniel Knox...

"That's the key in everything. Archie is really good, and he has never really had the opportunity because he was injured last year. Same thing with Daniel; Archie is a year old so of course he's a little bit better but they both should be out there playing."

On being a leader and making calls...

"I'm a lot more comfortable now because of all the repetition. I've got it all down; it is second nature to me now. I'm not really thinking about that now; I'm more thinking about extra things."

On being a center and working on snaps...

"Yes, I took a lot of time doing that. I had a lot of stuff to work on. I worked on three snaps every day after we ran and worked out and that's a huge thing I want to get a lot better on."

On the offense and passing game compared to last year...

"The offense has come a long ways and we've put in a lot of work. We're teaching the young guys all the plays and we have depth everywhere we go. We've got a lot of new guys coming up; I don't want to name any names because they all can play, and they just have to get it down. It's a whole other level from high school to college and especially at Mississippi State, and a lot of things they've got to learn and a lot of things they've got to get used to. We want a better record."

Joe Morrow - RFr. - WR

On what the fans will see this season...

"Coach Mullen has the role for me to play and I'm going to do the best I can to fill that role."

On talking to the older receivers...

"I see them every day, in meetings or not. I talk to them and ask them how I can improve myself. I make sure I watch everything they do and do the exact same or better if I can."

Justin Malone - RFr. - OL

On training camp...

"Camp has been going well. The team is coming together well and everybody is getting their role down."

On expectations in rotation and playing...

"I don't have any. I just want to help my team in whatever I need to do."

On defensive line differences from last year...

"There's a big difference from last year. We've got a lot of guys that are very versatile"

Damien Robinson - So. - OL

On field positioning...

"I'm comfortable with either left or right. I can do either one, whichever is needed"

On competition with the OL...

Charles (Siddoway) and I get along very well. We help each other on certain plays and calls."

Nick Griffin - So. - RB

On competing with LaDarius Perkins...

"Everybody wants to be a starter. As long as I can help the team in any way, I will."

Dak Prescott - RFR - QB

On being QB...

"I'm going to go out there and do the best I can in that role."

On redshirting...

"I can't sit back - I've got to learn and get in the film room. I've got to step up and play and be ready for my number to be called."

On Tyler Russell...

"I watch him a lot; he is a great pocket passer and that's something I need to work on."

SELECTED DEFENSIVE PLAYER QUOTES

Johnthan Banks - Sr. - DB

On Corey Broomfield...

"He's smart and humble and doesn't put anything before his team."

On development through Mississippi State football...

"First, it is a blessing from God. There have been a lot of people around to help - all the coaches. I wouldn't put anything on me; there have been a lot of people around to help."

Cameron Lawrence - Sr. - LB

On his leadership role for the team...

"Last year I was just out there just trying to do what's best for the team. Everything has just fallen into place since then, and I just want to establish my role as a leader and get do whatever I can to get the win."

On playing for Chris Wilson...

"He's very passionate as far as the game goes and he truly cares about all the players. He is smart and he knows ball in and out. We all trust him and whatever he tells us to do is what we are going to do."

On the 2012 schedule...

"It's been arguable that we've had some of the toughest schedules in the country. This year we are just taking it one game at a time in order to get to number one."

Josh Boyd - Sr. - DL

On playing with Fletcher Cox in past years...

"I learned a lot from him. He always tells me not to let the hype get to me."

On developing depth...

"Since I've been here there has never been this much depth. If we play those guys the right way and rotate more guys in and out, I believe will be able to finish games strong."

Christian Holmes - So. - LB

On team bonding...

"We all stick together; we hang out, anything we do during the weekends we always call each other."

On working with Coach Wilson...

"Just knowing that he played linebacker at Oklahoma and watching his highlights motivates me."

Kaleb Eulls - So. - DL

On fall camps...

"Fall camps have been going great. We have a high standard and we're going to work hard to reach it."

On expectation of self...

"I expect to get better in every little aspect I can and try to do my best."
