STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State right-hander Jonathan Holder has received his fourth freshman all-America team designation for the recently-completed 2012 campaign.

The latest to honor the Gulfport, Miss., product is online publication Perfect Game, which named Holder to its 16-player first-team freshman honor squad. Holder totaled nine saves and two wins with a sterling 0.32 earned run average in 24 relief appearances, limiting opponents to .173 hitting. Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA included the Bulldog relief ace in their respective 2012 freshman all-America team listings. He is one of five SEC players included on Perfect Game's 2012 Freshman All-America Team.

Holder and three other Bulldog hurlers are competing this summer in the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League. Pitching for the Wareham (Mass.) Gatemen, Holder has compiled a 3-1 record with a save, a 2.63 ERA and 19 strikeouts in nine relief stints.
