Bulldogs Place Trio On SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State soccer has enjoyed outstanding academic success, and that trend continued Thursday as a trio of Bulldogs earned spots on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Dana Forbes (accounting), Amy Hoover (marketing) and Shannen Jainudeen (criminology) were selected to the list after each posted a 3.0 or higher grade-point average for the 2011-12 academic year.
Over half of last season's roster earned academic laurels from the conference office as 13 were tabbed to the league's fall academic honor roll.
Neil Macdonald's squad enjoyed one of the program's best years in the classroom, posting a program-best 3.34 GPA in the fall and a 3.24 average for the spring semester.
Overall, Mississippi State had 47 student-athletes named to the honor roll, tying Arkansas for third-most in the league in the sports in which MSU competes.
