Renfroe Named To Cal Ripken League All-Star Game, Home Run Derby
STARKVILLE, Miss. --- Mississippi State junior outfielder/catcher Hunter Renfroe has been tabbed to play Wednesday in the 2012 Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game and compete in the league’s Home Run Derby.
Renfroe is playing summer league baseball with the two-time
defending CRCBL champion Bethesda Big Train. At the all-star break he sports a
team-leading .391 batting average and leads the CRCBL with 12 home runs and 38
RBI.
Six other members of the two-time defending CRCBL champion Big Train team
have been selected to play Wednesday’s 6:30 p.m. (CDT) all-star game at Shirley
Povich Field in Bethesda, Md.
Renfroe, who hit .252 with four home runs and 25
RBI at MSU this spring, is the favorite in the 4 p.m. (CDT) home run
derby.
