Johnson, Edens & Homan Qualify For Southern Amateur Championship
In a field that included 33 players, sophomore Fletcher Johnson and junior Barrett Edens qualified to play at the Southern Amateur Championship. The pair of Bulldogs finished in the top four at the Old Waverly qualifier that was held in West Point, Miss.
Johnson posted a 1-under par to finish third with a 71 from the par-72 golf course. Edens finished the qualifier at even and one spot behind his fellow Maroon and White brethren as he shot a 72.
Head Coach Clay Homan was the first Bulldog to qualify for the Southern Amateur Championship earlier this week after winning his second-straight Mississippi Golf Association state amateur championship title Sunday.
The Southern Amateur Championship will be held at the Chenal Country Club on the 7,221-yard course.
