STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's Diamber Johnson added another accolade to her impressive senior season, being named All-SEC Honorable Mention by the Associated Press.

The latest honor comes after she earned second team All-SEC accolades from the league's coaches and was tabbed a finalist for the Gillom Trophy, an annual award presented to the top women's basketball player in Mississippi.

"I'm grateful to receive this award," Johnson said. "I appreciate the media who cover Mississippi State and college basketball, and for them to recognize my efforts on the floor in trying to help our team this season is truly an honor."

Johnson averaged a career-best 14.7 ppg this season, the fourth-highest average in the conference. She also rated fifth in the SEC in assists with 3.6 per game.

The Pontotoc, Miss., native eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career during the campaign, ending up 18th in MSU annals with 1,052 career points.

Johnson became just the seventh player in MSU history to collect 1,000 points and 300 assists. She scored 20 or more points nine times this year, the most since Alexis Rack in 2010.
