STARKVILLE, Miss. - Fourteen players and three student managers have been awarded varsity letters for the just-concluded 2011 volleyball season at Mississippi State, MSU volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood announced this week.

Second-team All-SEC outside hitter Caitlin Rance heads up the list of letter-winners. The Kingwood, Texas, product finished second in the SEC this fall with 443 kills. She joins middle blocker Hannah Wilkinson of Elk Point, S.D., as the lone seniors on this year's volleyball letterman's list at State.

Juniors Faith Steinwedell (La Jolla, Calif.), Chanelle Baker (Carrollton, Texas) and Hillary Parker (College Station, Texas), lettered for the third time, while Dani McCree (Rialto, Calif.), Paris Perret (Frisco, Texas) and Wilkinson received their second letters.

Seven Bulldog freshmen also earned their initial letters --- Kristin Byers (Tucson, Ariz.), Kaitlin Parker (Addison, Ala.), Alex Scott (Addison, Ala.), Sara Temperelli (Tomball, Texas), Rachel Williams (Madison, Ala.), Bentley Witte (Arlington, Texas), and SEC All-Freshman Team selection Lainey Wyman (Plainfield, Ill.).

Hazelwood also awarded varsity letters to a trio of freshman managers --- Anna Florrence (Madison, Ala.), Kameron Killan (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and John Roberson (Lawrenceville, Ga.).

MSU concluded its 37th season of volleyball last month with a 12-17 overall record, tied for sixth place in the SEC and sporting a 7-13 league mark, one SEC win off the school record.
