FALL:

  • Teamed with Jordan Angus, reached the finals of the 2013 SEC Fall Classic, including victories against Florida’s No. 60 duo of Mike Alford/Florent Diep and Texas A&M’s 12th-ranked Harrison Adams/Shane Vinsant
  • Reached the round of 16 in doubles play with Angus at the 2013 ITA All-American Championships, including defeating No. 29 David Holiner and Nick Naumann of Texas.
  • Captured the 2013 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Singles Championship, defeating No. 105 Dan Cochrane (Auburn), No. 65 William Kallberg (Ole Miss) and No. 7 Nik Scholtz (Ole Miss) along the way

SPRING:

  • Began the spring slate winning his first three matches, including 56th-ranked Joe Salisbury (Memphis) and 65th-ranked Hugo Dojas (Texas Tech), both match-clinching wins
  • His victory against Salisbury sealed MSU's second-straight trip to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships
  • Went a perfect 3-0 at the 2014 Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, defeating opponents from VCU, Auburn and Princeton
  • Earned a crucial 6-1, 6-0 win against Ole Miss' 102nd-ranked William Kallberg, helping the Bulldogs defeat their in-state rivals in Oxford
  • His three-set victory against Louisiana-Lafayette's Rick de Groot put MSU up 3-0, eventually leading to a 4-0 win against the Ragin' Cajuns in the 2014 NCAA Championship First Round
  • Found a majority of his success on the doubles court, pairing with sophomore Jordan Angus for all his matches
  • The duo combined for a 20-12 record for the 2013-14 campaign, including tying the duo fo Rishab Agarwal and Zach White with 13 dual match doubles triumphs
  • The duo spent all season at the No. 1 position for the Bulldogs, with four of their 13 dual-match wins coming against ranked opponents
  • The highest ranked victory for the tandem came against sixth-ranked Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow of Texas A&M, which helped propel them into the 2014 NCAA Doubles Championship
  • Paired with Angus, earned his second-straight NCAA Doubles Championship bid, reaching the round of 16
  • With his graduation, the MSU top duo finished with a career record of 41-29, earning 16 ranked victories and 23 wins in dual match play
  • Finished his MSU career with 167 total victories, with 85 coming in singles and 82 in doubles
  • Climbed the charts in several categories in the MSU record book, including finishing tied for second in career doubles wins (82) and tied for sixth in career overall wins (167)
  • Was MSU's male nominee for the prestigious SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship

  • Paired with James Chaudry, advanced to the quarterfinals of Division I Doubles at the 2012 Southern Intercollegiates
  • Teamed with Jordan Angus, advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2013 ITA All-American Championships, including wins against No. 6 John Collins/Hunter Reese (Tennessee) and No. 17 David Hopkins/Amogh Prabhakar (Wake Forest)
  • Teaming up with the Angus, the Bulldog duo captured the 2012 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Doubles Championship, defeating Southern Miss’ Matt Frost/Andrew Goodwin in the title match
  • Advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play at the 2012 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships
  • Capped the fall by advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2012 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships with Angus.

SPRING:

  • Picked up five ranked wins in singles (Highest vs. No. 5 Jonas Lutjen of Ole Miss) and seven ranked victories in doubles play (Highest coming vs. No. 1 Andreas Mies/Dan Cochrane of Auburn)

  • Upset 5th-ranked Jonas Lutjen in a thrilling three set victory 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to help MSU capture their second-straight River Hills Cup
  • Earned SEC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career with victories against opponents from Ole Miss, South Alabama and Tennessee Tech
  • Paired with Angus, defeated Auburn No. 1 nationally ranked duo of Dan Cochrane and Andreas Mies 9-8(4) in perhaps the duo’s biggest win to date


  • Downed Harvard's Shaun Chaudhuri in straight sets to help MSU advance to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2001

  • Defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's 88th-ranked Peter Nagy 6-2, 6-1 in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Individual Championships
  • Defeated N.C. State's Dave Thomson and Sean Weber 7-6(5), 6-1 in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Individual Championships. Battled hard, but fell to eventual 2013 NCAA Doubles Champions Jermere Jenkins and Mac Styslinger of Virginia in three sets


Sophomore (2011-12)

  • Battled into the semifinals of the 2011 USTA/ITA Southern Regionals, including a victory against fellow teammate James Chaudry, ranked 73rd
  • Along with Cant, advanced to the semifinals of doubles play at the 2011 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships

SPRING:

  • Picked up three ranked wins in singles (Highest vs. No. 57 Tripper Carleton of Florida) and one ranked victory in doubles play (Highest coming vs. No. 60 Alex Domijan/Steven Rooda)

  • Started the season with a 9-2 record, including a victory over 98th-ranked Jonas Lutjen, helping State reclaim the River Hills Cup with a victory against Ole Miss
  • Defeated 57th-ranked Tripper Carleton of Florida in straight sets to lead MSU to a major road victory against the No. 11 Gators
  • Compiled an impressive season of doubles play with teammate Louis Cant, including a 9-7 victory against the No. 60 doubles squad of Alex Domijan and Steven Rooda of Virginia
  • Compiled a 7-1 run midway through the season to help elevate the Bulldogs into the top 10 in the national rankings


Freshman (2010-11)

SPRING:

  • Picked up one ranked win in singles (vs. No. 56 Matteo Fago of Tennessee) and six ranked victories in doubles play (Highest coming vs. No. 9 Chris Theimann/Marcel Theimann of Ole Miss)
  • Opened the spring season with four-straight victories, earning himself SEC Freshman of the Week honors on Feb. 2
  • Eventually went on to win the SEC Freshman of the Week award three more times making him the first Bulldog to not only win a conference weekly honor four times in a season but the first ever Bulldog to win such an award four times in a career 

  • Due to impressive doubles play with teammate Louis Cant which included a victory over Texas A&M's 32nd-ranked duo earned a 46th national ranking on Feb. 14


Pre-Mississippi State

  • Attended the Albert Einstein Gymnasium in Kaarst, Germany

  • Came to MSU ranking 96th among the German men's players
  • Made a semifinal appearance in a Futures tournament in Roemerberg Germany in singles, bringing his ATP ranking to 1,018
  • Pulled off another semifinal Futures appearance in Uaarst, Germany, but this time in doubles, ranking in 1,243 in ATP doubles ranking

  • Born on January 29, 1991 in Duesseldorf, Germany

  • Is the son of Haiko and Ulrike Stropp and has a younger sister, Imke (16)

  • Came to MSU with aspirations of competing in the toughest conference in the country and also enjoys playing soccer

  • Graduated from Mississippi State in May 2014 with a 3.97 GPA in Business Administration
  • Earned Presidential Scholar honors all four years at MSU, along ith numerous other academic awards
  • Plans to attend grad school and become a collegiate tennis coach
