The coaches, participating in the 2008 Mississippi State Spring Coaches Clinic, began the day with a lesson from Bracky Brett, Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance, about NCAA Initial Eligibility.

“We had a good group and we’re very pleased with it,” Croom said of the clinic. “Danny Ford did an outstanding job this morning and I think they enjoyed it.
After being forced inside for each of the last two workouts, the Bulldogs returned to the outdoor practice fields and Croom’s charges again worked for two-and-one-half hours under picture-perfect conditions. The efforts however did not meet the head coach’s expectations.
“We sent the first defense in because they were dominating the offense,” Croom said. “The offense didn’t compete today. Even when we sent the defense in the offense didn’t compete.”
As a result of the effort, Croom said the Bulldogs will practice tomorrow despite his intentions to give the team the day off to begin the university’s spring holiday.
“We were going to give them tomorrow off,” Croom said. “But we’re going to practice tomorrow in rain, sleet or snow. We’re not going practice like we did today, so we’ll just repeat the whole thing again tomorrow.”
