STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State Athletic Department has announced that it will begin taking orders for its expected football postseason bowl appearance on Monday, Dec. 3. The tickets will be available to purchase through the MSU Athletic Ticket Office both online (www.mstateathletics.com) as well as via phone (1-888-GO-DAWGS or 1-662-325-2600.).
Ticket prices will vary depending on the bowl. Tickets will be assigned to Bulldog Club members and season ticket holders in priority rank order with a maximum number of 10 tickets at priority. To secure their priority tickets, those parties must place their order by Friday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 p.m. CT. After that time, seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Due to the number of bowls that are considering the Bulldogs, State will likely not know its postseason destination until after the Bowl Championship Series Selection Show this Sunday evening, Dec. 2.
The Bulldogs posted a 7-5 overall record this season and went 4-4 in SEC competition. Both of those marks were the best by the program since 2000, when State ended the year with a memorable 43-41 overtime victory over Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl.
This season, MSU's highlights included road upsets of top 25 teams Auburn and Kentucky, a second straight win over Alabama, and the incredible fourth-quarter comeback win over arch-rival Mississippi last week in the Battle for the Golden Egg. In addition, four of State's five losses came to teams currently ranked in the top 25 nationally, two in the top 10.
