Bulldogs Excel On National Stage As Griesche Breaks School Record
WALNUT, Calif. – In one of the country’s most historic track and field events, Mississippi State boasted top performances on Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. San Antonio College.
Sophomore Cornelia Griesche’s 3000-meter steeplechase race highlighted the day as she garnered a first-place time of 10:04.05 to crush the MSU record (previously 10:19.70).
Donning a personal-best, freshman Rhianwedd Price posted a 4:16.11 in the women’s 1500-meter run (Olympic Development Elite division) to win the event.
Katie Huston turned in a time of 4:28.37, just a second shy of her personal best, in the women’s 1500-meter run (Open O/U division). The Huntsville, Ala., native finished 32nd in a field of 143 runners.
Still to come, the Maroon and White will see action at 11:10 p.m. PDT (1:10 a.m. CT). To follow the Bulldogs live, fans can visit www.mtsacrelays.com.
