BATON ROUGE, La. - Displaying convincing field performances Friday at the LSU Twilight meet, members of the Mississippi State indoor track and field team confirmed the Bulldogs are prepared and eager for next weekend's Southeastern Conference Championships in Fayetteville.

Junior Jason Harper (50-06.00) triple-jumped his way to a second-place finish, while Jarrett Samuels (23-02.00) posted a sixth-place performance in the long jump. Meanwhile, D'Angelo Cherry laced up for the men's 60-meter dash, running a 6.72 time in the event to place him third after finishing first during preliminaries.

Seeing action for the No. 25 Lady Bulldogs, freshman Megan Walker (12-01.25) landed a spot in third in the pole vault.

After returning to Starkville, the Maroon and White continue preparation for a battle against conference rivals. SEC competition in Fayetteville will kick off Friday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Razorbacks' Randal Tyson Track Center and conclude on Sunday, Feb. 24.
