GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Mississippi State junior men's golfer Joe Sakulpolphaisan finished at even par in Sunday's final round of the SunTrust Gator Invitational to record his fifth-career Top 25 finish and lead the Bulldogs to a 10th-place finish.

"We are playing hard and doing some things well, but ultimately we are not getting enough out of our rounds," Head Coach Clay Homan said. "Getting more balls up and down and making more putts, that is really what it's all about."

Sakulpolphaisan had seven birdies to card a 70 on Sunday and finish the three-round event with a six-over-par 216. The Thailand product tallied his fifth Top-25 finish in the Maroon and White's last six tournaments.

Fulton, Miss., native Chad Ramey finished Sunday with his lowest showing of the season, as his tie for 37th at the SunTrust was only the second time this year the junior has not finished with at least a 10th place performance. Ramey shot an 8-over-par over the weekend.

On Sunday, Junior Axel Boasson had his best round of golf of the weekend, shooting 1-over-par for the final 18 holes. Boasson turned in a 218 to tie Ramey.

Fletcher Johnson and Robi Calvesbert rounded out the Bulldog scoring. Johnson, a sophomore, had a nice showing with his even-par score for the second round, but shot a 4-over-par on Sunday to tie Calvesbert with a 221 for the weekend.

The Florida State Seminoles won the tourney with an 8-under-par. FSU finished 15 strokes better than second-place North Florida. Host Florida finished fourth. The Seminoles also had the highest score for a player, as Daniel Berger finished first overall with his 7-under-par performance.

The Bulldogs will be back on the greens Feb. 18-19, as they travel to the Magnolia Grove Golf Course to compete at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. Fans can also follow the men's golf program through Facebook at and on Twitter at @mstateMG.
