MSU Garners Three Wins In Day Two Of Bulldog Scramble

Athens, Ga. - Three matches were wrapped in Maroon and White, as the Mississippi State men's tennis Bulldogs wrapped up their second day at the Bulldog Scramble Saturday.

In singles play, Pedro Dumont picked up a victory for State against Georgia's Garrett Brasseaux 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

MSU's Zach White battled in a tough three-set match, but lost to UGA's Marco Nunez 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Bulldog senior Ethan Wilkinson also battled in a tight three-setter, but dropped his match to UGA's Eric Diaz 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. State's Stefan Vinti dropped his match to Georgia's Nathan Pasha 6-0, 6-3.

In two rounds of doubles play, MSU grabbed two victories. The duo of White and Wilkinson defeated Alabama's Rens van der Vis and Harris Barnard 9-8(3) in the first round of action. The Bulldog duo picked up another victory in the second session, defeating Georgia's Diaz and Garrett Brasseaux 8-5.

State's duo of Dumont and Vinti battled the Crimson Tide team of Stuart Kenyon and Brian Conlon tough, but fell 9-7 in first session. In the second wave, Dumont and Vinti fell to UGA's Pasha and Nunez 8-2.

The Bulldog Scramble will conclude Sunday.
