AUBURN, Ala. - Romain Bogaerts headlined another great day from the Bulldog tennis team as Mississippi State advance three into main draw semifinal play Saturday at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships. State advanced one into the singles main draw semifinals and two into the doubles semis.

The rookie Bogaerts upset LSU's 58th-nationally ranked and seventh-seeded Chris Simpson 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the semis of the Auburn-hosted tournament.

In other quarterfinal action, State's No. 47/fifth seed Malte Stropp dropped his match to Alabama's Becker O'Shaughnessey in a tough 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 battle. The doubles team of Zach White and Ethan Wilkinson fell to Alabama's duo of Danill Proskura and David Vieyra 8-6 to fall short of a quarterfinals bid.

In consolation singles play, White defeated Tulane's Rodrigo Rappacciolo 6-2, 6-2 to advance into quarterfinal play. There, White overwhelmed Ole Miss' Zack Wilder 6-3, 6-3 to earn a spot in the semifinals Sunday.

State's Wilkinson came back from a 5-2 deficit in the final set to defeat Garrison Laduca of Samford 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(3) to begin his day in consolation action. However, Wilkinson dropped his quarterfinal match to Troy's Anas Rouchdi 6-2, 6-3.
