WEST POINT, Miss. - Through two rounds of play at the Inaugural Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, the Mississippi State women's golf team owns a fourth-place 598 card.

The 22-over tally ranks in the Top 10 of all-time lowest 36-hole scores, and leaves the Lady Bulldogs just 10 strokes behind SEC-foe Kentucky.

"We are in a good position right now," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "All we need to do is cut a few strokes off (Wednesday), and we will have a great finish to open the season."

After an opening-round 74, standout sophomore Ally McDonald rebounded with a 3-under-par 69. The Fulton-native capitalized with three birdies on the front nine before cruising to her 143. The 3-under matches McDonald's career-low round and ties for MSU's seventh-lowest round all-time.

Freshman Gabi Oubre' notched a 4-over-par 76 in the second round of her career. Her two-day 150 tied her for 15th. After a first-round 73, sophomore Rica Tse turned in a 151. Mary Langdon Gallagher and Elena Warren rounded out the Lady Bulldogs' leaderboard with a 154 and 161, respectively.

Also wearing the Maroon and White as an individual, Logan Chaney bettered her round one tally by a stroke with a 75. Her two-day 151 has earned her a spot in the Top 25.

Final-round action begins at 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Wednesday morning with the Lady Bulldogs set to begin on tees No. 6 through No. 9.

Admission to "The Waverly" is free, and MSU students can earn Bulldog Collation points by attending the round.
