Seniors Invited To NFL Combine And Several All-Star Games
STARKVILLE, Miss. - As members of the winningest senior class in over a decade, several Mississippi State football outgoing seniors have been invited to the NFL Combine, while also being selected to participate in various college football all-star games across the country.
All-American defensive back Johnthan Banks, All-SEC corner Darius Slay and defensive lineman Josh Boyd have been invited to the NFL Combine, which will take place Feb. 20-26, 2013, in Indianapolis, Ind. There, the Bulldogs will showcase their talents in front of league coaches, general managers and personnel directors with hopes of hearing their name called in April's NFL Draft.
Banks, the 2012 Jim Thorpe Award winner, will also partake in the 2013 Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Practices in the week leading up to the game are attended by over 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from all 32 NFL teams. The NFL Network will televise the game live on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. CT.
Boyd will join All-SEC wide receiver Chad Bumphis at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, for the 88th annual East-West Shrine game. Since 1925, the game has established itself as the longest-running college football all-star game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on the NFL Network. All-SEC linebacker Cameron Lawrence will participate in the 2013 RAYCOM College Football All-Star Classic, to be held Jan. 19, 2013 in Montgomery, Ala., at Cramton Bowl. Practices from Jan. 14-18 are open to the public, with the Jan. 19 game kicking off at 2 p.m. CT on the CBS Sports Network.

Templeton Hardy and Shane McCardell will play in the NFLPA Bowl, which is to obe played Jan. 19 on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. CT.
