2012:
Took the mound in seven games, drawing game-opening duty in six of those appearances • Compiled a 2-1 record with a 4.64 earned run average in 21.1 innings • Made his collegiate debut and earned his first career win against Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 26) • Registered eight strikeouts over seven innings, both season-highs • Worked three innings as the starter and yielded four runs in absorbing the loss at Southeastern Louisiana (Mar. 14) • Led a split MSU pitching crew and earned his second win while striking our six of the nine batters he faced over three innings against Alcorn State (Mar. 27) • Made one brief appearance in SEC competition (vs. Vanderbilt, Apr. 7).

HIGH SCHOOL:
Four-year standout pitcher at Amory High School • Coached by Chad Williams • Earned all-state honors in 2011 after posting a 12-1 record with a save and a remarkable 0.41 earned run average • Piled up 147 strikeouts and walked only 11 over 85.1 innings of mound duty as a senior • Also swung the bat at a .420 clip with 28 RBI and five RBI • Earned all-state, all-division and Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Player of the Year honors in 2010 with a 13-1 record, a save and an 0.72 earned run average • Helped guide the Panthers to the 2010 4A state championship series • Finished the 2010 campaign with 142 strikeouts in 96.2 innings while leading AHS at the plate with a .435 batting average, five home runs and 35 RBI • Voted team MVP in 2010 and 2011 and AHS Pitcher of the Year in 2009 and 2011 • MVP of the 2011 Crossroads Diamond Club All-Star Game in Pearl, Miss. • Played summer league baseball alongside MSU teammates Tanner Gaines and Brandon Woodruff on the state championship and national runner-up Tupelo 49ers, coached by Kirk Presley • Joined Woodruff on the ALWS All-Tournament Team • Hails from the same Amory High School program that produced MSU pitching coach Butch Thompson and former Bulldog and current Texas Ranger Mitch Moreland.
