SENIOR (2012-13)

Provided key senior leadership for the Bulldogs throughout the 2012-13 season, posting a 17-10 overall record, while going 12-7 in dual match play.

FALL - Ranked 41st in the ITA Preseason polls in singles... Ended fall play with a 5-3 record in singles and an individual doubles record of 5-3 as well... Ousted three opponents to advance to the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Division I Doubles with teammate Malte Stropp... Paired with freshman Stefan Vinti, defeated three duos to advance to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships.

SPRING - Finished 12-7 in singles dual match play... Opened the season 3-0, all straight-set victories... Defeated Texas Tech's Hugo Dojas 7-5, 6-1 to clinch the Bulldogs' season-opening victory... Defeated Cody Hall of No. 53 South Alabama 6-1, 6-2 en route to a 5-1 MSU victory... Earned his first ranked victory of the spring season with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 victory against Ole Miss' William Kallberg at the ITA National Team Indoors... Swept weekend play against opponents from Samford and Middle Tennessee, only allowing opponents to take a total of six games in back-to-back straight-set victories... Crusied to an easy straight-sets victory against Vanderbilt's Marc van der Merwe 6-1, 6-0, also earning him his 45th career singles victory... Defeated LSU's Olivier Borsos 7-6(6), 6-0 to clinch a 4-1 Bulldog victory in Baton Rouge... Downed Kentucky's Charles Minc 6-1, 6-3 in the second round of the 2013 SEC Championship... Clinched an MSU victory in the 2013 NCAA Championship First Round by defeating Austin Peay's Dimitar Ristovski 6-4, 6-4, winning his fourth-straight match... Helped MSU clinch its first trip to the Round of 16 since 2001 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Harvard's Andy Nguyen.

 

JUNIOR (2011-12)

Among the nation's top 80 players in singles action.

FALL - Ranked 73rd in the ITA polls in singles... Tailed nine singles wins and four doubles wins in fall play... Began the fall season winning five out his first six matches en route to qualifying for the main draw at the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa... Ousted five ranked players during the fall campaign with his highest coming against 45th-ranked Nick Andrews of California... Finished 4-1 at the ITA All-Americans with four of the matches coming against ranked opponents... While competing against top 15 opponents, he took both of them to three sets including third-ranked Eric Quigley of Kentucky and Texas Tech's No. 11 Gonzalo Escobar... Tallied three victories, including a win over 57th-ranked Alex Stamchev of Auburn, before falling in the semis to teammate and 46th-ranked Bulldog Malte Stropp.

SPRING - Ranked 73rd nationally to begin the 2012 spring season... Defeated 95th-ranked Hunter Reese of Tennessee to help the Bulldogs to a 4-3 road win against the 19th-ranked Vols... Won a hard-fought battle with Georgia's No. 29 Sadio Doumbia in the Bulldog's SEC semifinal battle... Defeated Baylor's Roberto Maytin in straight-sets in MSU's NCAA Second Round battle with Baylor... Found his most success paired with Ethan Wilkinson, gaining two wins in the ITA Kickoff Weekend and a victory from Texas Tech's Gonzalo Escobar and Vitar Manzini at the Blue Gray Classic... Finished the season ranked 79th nationally in singles play.

 

SOPHOMORE (2010-11):

Considered to be a key tool for MSU's  2010-11 lineup.

SPRING - Began his dual match career for MSU with a 7-0 record which includes a win streak of nine-straight matches before losing his first career dual match... Helped the Bulldogs achieve back-to-back 7-0 victories to begin the home schedule... Helped State begin its conference season at 4-1 and take a lead in the SEC Western Division... Finished 6-4 in SEC action to assist the Bulldogs to an SEC Western Division crown... Took down 54th-ranked Sadio Doumbia of Georgia in a tough three-set match... Competed in all positions for MSU in doubles... Found most success paired with freshman Zach White, where they ousted three SEC opponents, including the doubles clinching point over Matteo Fago and Ed Jones en route to a 6-1 victory over then 4th-ranked Tennessee... Was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll as well as an ITA Scholar Athlete.

 

FRESHMAN (2009-10):

Arrived at Mississippi State in the spring and did not compete during the spring season.

 

PRE-MSU:

Attended the Ralph Allen School where he also competed in track and held district records in both the 200 and 400 meters... Came to MSU ranked among the top 100 in the world among the Junior ITF rankings... Recorded multiple wins over top 10 players in the world in the Junior ITF standings.

 

PERSONAL:

James Chaudry was born on March 11, 1991, in Southampton, England... The son of David and Rosie Chaudry... Has one younger brother, Harry... The right-hander enjoys playing and watching all types of sports.
