After a week off, the Mississippi State men's golf team makes it's way to the heart of Texas to compete in the Lone Star Invitational for the final road tournament of the 2015-16 regular season. Hosted by UTSA, the two-day, 54-hole event tees off Monday at 8:30 a.m. CT, with 36 holes at the par 72 Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. "I just look at this as another opportunity for our guys to turn the corner and build on the positives," MSU coach Clay Homan said. MSU plays in the 16-team field which features Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Houston Baptist, Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Miami (Ohio), New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, Ohio State, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas State, UTEP and host UTSA. Along with a week off comes a tweak in the Bulldog scorecard, as sophomore Taylor Bibbs will make his team debut for the season. Joining Bibbs on scorecard is the foursome of Ben Wood, Taylor Grant, Jacob Ross and Ross Bell. "Hopefully, we learned a few things that we didn't do particularly well in our last tournament that we can improve on," Homan said. The Maroon and White have another week off before returning to play at home in the fourth annual Old Waverly Collegiate Championship on April 4th for the final outing of the regular season.
